Haze Series Statement
Haze is a series gas masks made of traditional Chinese blue and white porcelain. I use underglaze color to paint the landscape on the gas masks. The beauty of Chinese traditional and the ecological destruction of the real world form the distinctcontrast, which is displayed together in every piece of ceramic work. What they want to express is not only the concern for the environment, but also the implied meaning that probably the key to solving the environmental problems is just theChinese culture. Chinese traditional philosophy advocate the theory that “human isan integral part of nature” on the relationship among human being, heaven, and earth. China’s environmental problems are not only from the outside world, but alsofrom the realm of spirit. If the wisdom of Chinese traditional culture can give all the modern people a warning of living in harmony with the nature and observing the natural law, there is no doubt that it is an important part of environmental governance.
