Student work - Painting
CULTURE MEDIA COLLEGE OF LIAONING UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY
I taught painting courses at the Culture Media College, where students learned to work with various mediums, including oil, acrylics, and watercolor. They explored techniques in oil painting, such as Direct painting/Alla Prima, Grisaille/Monochromatic and Layering/Glazing methods, while developing their skills in painting still life, portraits, and figures. These courses provided a strong foundation in technique and composition, encouraging students to refine their artistic expression.

Student work - Art 335
GRAND VALLEY STATE UNIVERSITY
These are examples of animation and 2D artworks created by my students in the Digital Creativity class. In my course, students learned to use Adobe software, including Photoshop, Illustrator and Animate, to bring their creative visions to life. They explored creative strategies inspired by the old masters in art history, such as techniques in illusion, synthesized landscapes, and surrealism. Additionally, students were taught to use tools like mind maps and digital boards for brainstorming, critical thinking, and storytelling, fostering a comprehensive approach to visual narrative creation.

Student work - Illustration
KENDALL COLLEGE OF ART AND DESIGN OF FERRIS STATE UNIVERSITY
In the Illustration program, I taught courses on Science Fiction Illustration, Illustration III and Portrait. My focus was on guiding students to create visual narrative storytelling using both digital and traditional mediums. I encouraged them to blend Western and Eastern artistic influences, with a particular emphasis on Japanese styles, to develop unique and compelling illustrations that bridge diverse cultural aesthetics.
